Oana and Rohan - An artful wedding

Oana had a clear vision of her wedding day look when we first met, which always makes my job a lot easier. Oana was also realistic in the type of styles that would work with her hair and compliment the style of her dress.

After her trial we became certain on a natural loose bun as the best option. This is an excellent choice if you want to show off the back of your dress- in Oana’s case this was a must! (As you will see from the photos).

I was met by a relaxed bridal party on the morning of the wedding and a wonderful space to work in. We were well organised and worked our timings perfectly alongside the make-up artist Hania. There were a few hair styles to get through so a prompt start was the order of the day.

Oana’s hair was waved with straighteners to give loose curls that were gently swept round and pinned loosely at the side leaving some natural looking pieces down to frame her face. After adding a little volume at the crown, we were making good progress. This simple style looked fantastic on her and really complimented her lovely neckline. We later added her beautiful hair accessory and stunning long veil that required a more delicate approach to fix-in.

A main theme from Oana’s morning was the calmness she projected onto others and it was very noticeable how much time she spent thinking of her family and friends and making sure they were happy with their looks. Therefore, it was lovely to see her having her moment to shine.

Our bridesmaid had beautiful long dark hair and I was so pleased when she suggested having a pleat through it. Pleats tend to work well with thick hair and are very popular among brides and bridesmaids. When the hair is thicker it gives a “chunky braid” look that has a lovely effect and adds something special to even the most simple of styles. This hair style also really suited the stunning bridesmaid dress as you’ll see in the photo.

Oana’s mother opted for some loose waves. She wore her hair down but wanted a little volume and something natural as she was wearing a flower hair piece and had relatively short hair. It came together really nicely on the day. Similarly to the bride, Oana’s mother in law decided on a side bun with curls, however it was a little more “fixed”. The addition of a feathered head piece set the mother of the groom off nicely.

The House for an Art Lover provided an ideal background for the quirky style of this wedding and i’m sure you will enjoy browsing some of the photos.

I’d like to wish Oana and Rohan a lifetime of great fun filled with lots of love,

Emma x
